Ogun State Muslim Group Instructs Students To Begin The Use Of Hijab, The Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas has issued a directive for female Muslim students in public schools in the state to begin wearing hijabs as part of their school uniforms starting on January 9, 2023.
In a statement released on December 27, the group explained that they had
previously informed the government of their desire for Muslim students to have the option to wear hijabs in schools, and that the government had granted their request in accordance with the Supreme Court of Nigeria’s affirmation of the right of Muslim students to do so.
The league specified that the hijabs to be worn should be white-colored shoulderlength capes, and appealed to the government to instruct teachers and school administrators to respect the human rights of Muslim students and allow the use of hijabs in schools.
